We had Hoddys recovery tow the bus from Hetton to our Gateshead shed at 6am. 91L is the last known Tyneside example and so we thought it only right to save the bus from the scrap man. Work will not start for quite some time but it is on our "to do" list! UVK290T acquired from NEBPT 10/25/2010
![]() Keith Buckley has announced he has acquired ex Tyne and Wear PTE Atlantean UVK290T from the North East Bus Preservation Trust. Keith plans to sort several issues the bus has including a leaking gearbox over the winter months and hopes to have it out on the rally scene some time in 2011. ![]() The group travelled to Dumfries depot this morning to collect C656LFT 14656. The bus was withdrawn in July after the school services were axed and so the group decided to approach Stagecoach with the possibility of acquiring the bus for preservation. After several emails and phone calls later a price was agreed and the bus secured for preservation. The bus ran fault free and arrived back on Tyneside after numerous years away working in Scotland. Although the bus has been modified externally losing its famous black bumper which distinguished these Olympians and having the grille and headlights altered, mechanically it is in very good condition over all. We believe 14656 could be the last of the ex Tyne and Wear PTE/Busways in service with Stagecoach. With thanks to Mark McKenzie of the treble one group for piloting our new vehicle home!!!! Also a big thank you to everyone from Stagecoach in helping us to save this fine machine, thank you! SJR612Y arrives at its new home. 10/08/2010

![]() We are proud to Announce that we now have our own premises to house our preserved fleet. We are due to move into the facility on the 1st of October after there has been some renovation work completed. The shed is located on the Felling business centre industrial estate, Green Lane, Gateshead giving us excellent transport links to both Newcastle and Gateshead city centres. We will of course be keeping everyone up to date on our progress with both the building and the fleet. ![]() We travelled to the Carlisle depot open day 29th may on our preserved Scania 112 double decker JFT413X. The bus preformed very well, gave us no problems at all and spent a short time on the free shuttle runs travelling from the depot to the city centre and back. The day was a success on the whole with the rain holding off till late afternoon. A massive thank you to everyone at Stagecoach North West for allowing us to attend and use of there bus wash and also fuelling the bus free of charge for the return journey home. Stagecoach showed there gratitude to preservationists who attended by fuelling every bus with 50 litres of diesel free of charge. They also gave an extra 30 litres of diesel for those who put there vehicle on shuttles so a very big thank you for doing that. Photos taken of the rally can be found in the rally photos section.
